How to Disable a Beacon

This information applies to the Beacon and Google’s Find My Device app.

Beacon can be disabled to stop usage and the sharing of its location. Once disabled, it will no longer report to Google’s Find Hub network, and the owner will stop receiving location updates.

If you receive a notification on your Android device that an unfamiliar Beacon is traveling with you, you can make it ring directly from the system alert. After you locate the item, follow the steps below to disable it. Once disabled, the owner will no longer receive location updates and it will not trigger unknown tracker alerts.

To disable your Beacon:

  1. Locate the power button on Beacon.

  2. Press and hold the button for five seconds. A confirmation chime will sound.
