PowerStick Welcomes Tina Filipski as New Director of Corporate Relations
– Tina Berres Filipski
PowerStick, the industry’s leading designer and manufacturer of personal technology products, has added industry veteran Tina Berres Filipski to its growing team, says company founder and CEO Nigel Harris.
Filipski, who was previously director of publications and editor at Promotional Products Association International in Irving, Texas, has become the company’s first director of corporate relations. She will be responsible for increasing the supplier’s visibility throughout the promotional products industry with news releases, story placements and by leveraging her strong industry relationships honed over the past 26 years at PPAI.
“We have grown our business by consistently delivering high-quality consumer technology solutions in innovative packaging to promotional products distributors,” says Harris. “With new sales targets set for the next 10 years, we need to increase our visibility, and I am thrilled that Tina has agreed to join PowerStick as our first director of corporate relations.
“I have worked with Tina over the years on a number of PPAI projects and have always been impressed by her knowledge and professionalism. She will be a tremendous asset to this organization.”
Harris founded PowerStick.com in 2011 with the original PowerStick Classic charger (which subsequently won the Best of Show Award at the Consumer Electronics Show). Since then, the Ottawa, Ontario-based supplier has expanded its line with a full collection of high-quality personal electronics.
PowerStick is a four-time winner of PPB magazine’s Greatest Companies To Work For competition (in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021) and was named one of Canada’s National Capital Region Fastest Growing Companies by the Ottawa Business Journal in 2013. It also won a PPAI 2022 Pyramid Award in Supplier Decorating for its exceptional capabilities in etching, engraving and laser decoration. In addition, the company is a nine-time winner of the CES Innovations and Engineering award and has been honored with Peernet’s Outstanding Supplier Award, its Preferred Partner of the Year award and the Jack Nadel Creative Partner of the Year award.
“I’m excited to join this amazing company,” says Filipski, who will work remotely from Texas. “I became familiar with PowerStick during my years at PPAI and was always impressed with how Nigel operated the company, and the positive and productive environment he created as well as the high-quality tech products the company manufactures. I never dreamed I’d have the chance to work for this company. It’s an incredible opportunity to use my writing and relationship skills from a fresh perspective to help PowerStick achieve even greater levels of success.”
